1. Can I use the short skewers, long skewers/ cages and/ or grill at the same time?
No, the long skewers/ cages, short skewers and grill rack are all at the sane height. This means that setting the charcoal tray to the right height is the right height for all skewers etc. (except for the top long skewer). When one lot of food is finished cooking you can remove those skewers/ cages and put on any other food, the height will be the same.
If you tried to put skewers across and along the BarbeSkew they would interfere with each other and stop them turning.

2. How do the BBQ skewers rotate?
There are two sets of skewers. The front set comprise 9 shorter kebab skewers, and these skewers fit into the skewer rack at the rear of the BarbeSkew BBQ, which is driven by a battery motor at the centre rear. The 9 kebab BBQ skewers are made to rotate together by a series of cogs driven by the centre cog.
The second set of 3 larger BBQ skewers which consist of 1 long skewer with two food clamps (for chickens) and 2 cage BBQ skewers (for beef-burgers/steak/fish), and these fit into the BBQ skewer rack at the side of the BarbeSkew BBQ, which is driven by a second battery motor on the right hand side of the BarbeSkew BBQ.
3. How long do the batteries last?
The batteries have been timed to last for 34 hours, using 2 x D type batteries. So each motor will run independently for 34 hours, which if a barbecue lasts for 2 hours, will run for 17 barbecues. A mains adaptor is included with the BarbeSkew BBQ so that the BarbeSkew BBQ can be run without batteries.
4. How is the BarbeSkew BBQ delivered to me, and what is the delivery charge?
The BarbeSkew BBQ is delivered by DSV, a home delivery specialist, who already deliver goods for Grattan and Hughes Electrical. The delivery team will text you the night before delivery, and then will ring you on the day of the delivery to let you know where you are on their list, and the approximate time of delivery. Two delivery personnel will carry your BarbeSkew BBQ to the location in your house/garden that you desire. The delivery price for this quality service is £19.95 inclusive of VAT.

6. How many burners are there on the Gas BarbeSkew BBQ?
There are 3 burners on the Gas BarbeSkew BBQ delivering 7000 BTU X 3 = 21000 BTU (British Thermal Units). This is not a particularly high BTU, but our research has shown us that a smaller BTU is required for rotating BBQ skewers. Gone are the days of huge BTUs that frazzle the food to a burnt black cinder. The 3 burners heat up 3 porcelein enamal flavourisers which give the food its smokey BBQ flavour, while any excess fat drips down into the removable / cleanable fat tray.
7. Is there a warranty?
Yes there is a standard one year warranty on all manufacturing faults. Please note, this warranty does not cover faults which are the result of improper use of the BarbeSkew BBQ. These are not considered as manufacturing faults.
8. What is the lid coating?
The lid coating is porcelain enamel which is baked on at 870 degrees centigrade and it is this glass-enamel finish that is tough enough to withstand the heat of the BarbeSkew BBQ, and to leave it looking good even after multiple uses.
9. The BarbeSkew BBQ is a new product. How can I be assured of it’s quality?
The BarbeSkew BBQ has been independently tested by a UKAS (UK Accreditation Service) Accredited Test Centre. All recommendations for product improvement have been undertaken, and the laboratory has carried out full due diligence tests on both the Charcoal BarbeSkew BBQ and the Gas BarbeSkew BBQ. This is one step above the mandatory CE Mark test, for which the BarbeSkew BBQ automatically qualifies.
After the problems a recent toy manufacturer had after CE marking their toys in China, we felt it was important to fully safety test the product in the UK.
